Women’s pelvic health

Many women live with leaking urine when they laugh, cough, or exercise, an overactive bladder that interrupts the day, pelvic organ prolapse after childbirth, or urinary tract infections that keep returning. These problems are not an inevitable part of aging, and most are very treatable.

Men’s urology

An enlarged prostate (BPH) can make urination difficult or wake you several times a night. Dr. Ferlic treats BPH, weak stream, and leaking after prostate surgery, and she performs vasectomy. Treatment options range from medication to minimally invasive and surgical procedures.

Sexual & hormonal health

Dr. Ferlic provides menopause care with particular attention to how estrogen loss affects the bladder and pelvic floor. Care includes hormone therapy and treatment for low libido, painful intimacy, and changes in sleep and mood. Contact the practice to ask about availability and video visits.

What is “voiding dysfunction”?

Voiding dysfunction focuses on issues with the lower urinary tract, including the bladder, prostate, and urethra. Voiding dysfunction is the medical term for trouble with urination: going too often, not being able to go, leaking, waking up all night, or pain when you do go. It can start with the bladder itself, with an enlarged prostate, or with the nerves that control them. The right treatment depends entirely on which one it is.

Sorting that out is what Dr. Ferlic trained for. Her fellowship covers the full range: overactive bladder treatment, enlarged prostate care, stress incontinence, and neurogenic bladder, the complex nerve-related conditions many pelvic specialists don’t treat. You don’t need to know which kind of problem you have before you reach out; diagnosis is part of the evaluation.

If you’ve been searching for a bladder clinic or pelvic floor clinic in the Salt Lake Valley, this is the range of care the practice provides, all in one place.

A dedicated urologist with a mission to help

After years of caring for patients across Utah, Dr. Ferlic is opening her own practice to care for patients the way she believes medicine should be practiced: unhurried visits, plain-language answers, and treatment plans that fit your life.

Her fellowship training in voiding dysfunction and female pelvic medicine covers the conditions most clinics split between specialists or refer out: childbirth-related incontinence, prolapse, prostate-related voiding problems, and nerve-related bladder dysfunction. Only one other urologist in Utah holds that training.

A typical urology appointment inside a large health system lasts about ten minutes. That limit is one of the main reasons Dr. Ferlic opened her own practice.

Your first visit, step by step

We have not opened our doors yet, so the first step is different from what you would find at an established practice. It is also simpler.

  1. Step 1

    Reach out

Reach out to our dedicated team through our Contact page. That is the entire first step; there is nothing to print, fax, or send at this stage.

  2. Step 2

    We call to schedule

When scheduling opens, a member of our office staff will call you directly to find an appointment time that works for you. You will speak with the practice itself rather than an outside call center.

  3. Step 3

    What to bring

    • Photo ID
    • Insurance card
    • List of current medications
    • Records or imaging

If your records are held at another clinic, let us know and we can request them for you.

Here’s what our great patients say

I am so grateful that Dr Ferlic was the doctor available to take care of my emergency kidney stone surgery. I had met with multiple urologists prior to needing this surgery and none of them seemed as compassionate or as competent and Dr. Ferlic.

Refer with confidence

Elisabeth Ferlic, MD, accepts adult urology referrals for women and men: routine general urology, along with the complex voiding dysfunction and neuro-urology cases that currently have no dedicated referral destination in the Salt Lake Valley. Referral inquiries are welcome now, and each inquiry receives a direct answer from the practice.

  1. Send the referral

Send your referral note, relevant records, and imaging. A demographic sheet and your working diagnosis are enough to start.

  2. We contact your patient

Our office calls the patient directly to schedule, so your staff does not need to follow up on the appointment.

  3. You get a consult note back

After the visit, you receive a consult note with findings, the treatment plan, and a clear statement of which issues we are managing and which remain with you.
